Privacy Policy
How TrackDividend collects, uses, and protects your data. Last updated 2026-07-07.
Overview
TrackDividend is a dividend tracking and planning tool. This page explains what data we collect, why we use it, and the choices you have. It is plain-language, honest about our current systems, and is not legal advice. We do not sell your data.
Data we collect and process
To provide the service, TrackDividend processes the following categories of data:
- Account and authentication data. We use Supabase Auth to manage your account. This includes your email address and, when you sign in with Google, your Google profile basics (your name and profile picture as provided by Google). We request only the basic profile and email scopes — we do not request Gmail, Drive, Calendar, payment, or other sensitive Google scopes.
- Profile settings. Your display name, base currency preference, and other in-app settings you choose.
- Portfolio holdings. The stocks and exchanges you add to your portfolio, your stock selections, holdings quantities, average cost, dividend planning data, and dividend logs/history you enter. This data is entered by you and stored so the app can show your dividend income and planning projections.
- Freedom Number / target values. The Freedom Number, target income, withdrawal rate, and related planning values you set to project your path to financial independence.
- Feedback submissions. When you submit feedback through the in-app feedback form, your submission (and the user account it is tied to) is stored so we can review and respond.
- Aggregate engagement events. We record limited, aggregate engagement metrics (for example, that a dashboard view or calendar visit occurred) as backend aggregate counts. These are aggregate analytics for product improvement, not user-level behavior profiles sold to or shared with advertisers.
- Anonymous analytics and performance telemetry. Vercel Web Analytics (privacy-focused, cookieless) and Vercel Speed Insights record anonymous aggregate telemetry such as page views and web vitals. We do not send your portfolio holdings, tickers tied to you, Freedom targets, email addresses, request bodies, cookies, tokens, or Supabase session data to these services.
- Error events. Sentry receives error events to help us find and fix bugs. Sentry context is limited to a privacy-safe user id (
user.id) — we do not forward your email, raw IP, holdings, share quantities, costs, dividend amounts, Freedom targets, request bodies, cookies, or tokens to Sentry.
How we use your data
Your data is used to provide the product: to authenticate you, show your portfolio and dividend calendar, calculate and project dividend income and your Freedom Number, generate reports you request, and improve the product through aggregate analytics and error monitoring. We do not use your data to make automated investment decisions on your behalf.
We do not sell your data
TrackDividend does not sell user data. Your portfolio and financial data is not shared with third-party analytics vendors. The third-party processors we rely on (Supabase for database and auth, Vercel for hosting and anonymous analytics, Sentry for error monitoring) process data only to operate the service, under their respective agreements.
Storage and security
Your data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) and accessed over HTTPS/TLS. Database access is restricted by Row Level Security policies so each user can only read and write their own data. We rely on managed at-rest encryption provided by Supabase and Vercel. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your rights and choices
You can access and update your profile, portfolio holdings, and Freedom Number settings directly inside the app at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, or to contact us about your data, reach out to the founder at the support email listed on the site. Account and data deletion is currently handled manually by the founder — there is not yet an automated self-service deletion flow — so processing may take a short time. We will not retain your data longer than necessary once a deletion is confirmed.
Retention
We retain your account and portfolio data for as long as your account is active. Audit activity logs are retained for a limited recent window and then archived with raw IP addresses removed. Engagement events are retained as aggregate backend data for product improvement. If you request deletion, we remove your user-facing data as described above.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
Contact
Questions about this policy or requests about your data can be sent to the founder support email listed on the site. See also our Terms of Service.
